Dr. Don Forbes specialises in marketing analytics
and forecasting.After finishing a dual Science
(Mathematics)/Law degree at the University of
Queensland a 2 year foray into the public sector
with the Queensland Government followed. During
this time a Graduate Diploma in Applied Science
(Social Statistics) was completed via correspondence
through Swinburne University and this further
fuelled a desire to research sport. As a logical
progression, a PhD through Swinburne, titled
"Dynamic prediction of Australian Rules football
using real time performance statistics" was
begun in 2002 and finished in 2006. During the
tenure strong relationships were developed with
a number of AFL clubs through the industry partner,
Champion Data, that have continued to this day.
Having always had solid ties with the bookmaking
fraternity it was little surprise that he was
charged with starting up and managing an online
sports wagering company before being enticed into
the commercial world by the philosophy Offlode
espoused. Since coming on board in October 2006,
various contracts have been fulfilled in the telecommunication,
utility and sports industries.
